Greene County district court, week ending Oct. 27

In Greene County district court Joshua Harold Gingery, 32, of Churdan was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted burglary- third degree, amended from burglary- second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Gingery was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must also pay $550 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Jeffrey Lee Hawkins, 44, of Lake City was fined $1,000 after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. He must also pay a $350 surcharge, $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson, prohibited act, Schedule II narcotic, Class C felony, two counts; Mark Raymond Lane, 61, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated- second offense; and Stacie Maureen Clark, 38, of Jefferson, false report of indictable offense to public entity. Trial dates were set for Jan. 24 in every case.

Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending Oct. 27 as follow: Dakota Rae Sheer, 33, of Bayard, driving while license revoked; Jamie Ray Alvarado, 22, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense; and Kimberly Marie Ore, 43, of Jefferson, perjury.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Brittany Kay Smith, 29, of Jefferson has been charged with possession of methamphetamine. The warrant was issued Aug. 25 and returned Oct. 12.
